RoBLOX

ROBLOX is a free game and virtual world for kids that combines elements of building, inventing, and community. The ROBLOX world is built from thousands of physically simulated components that are assembled to form buildings, vehicles, scenery, and characters. Users battle, trade creations, out-invent one another, or just hang out at each other’s virtual place.

Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Users build their places with a virtual toolbox — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer Capture the Flag game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up object or activity.

By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (ROBUX). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.

Everything in the ROBLOX world is physically simulated, providing realistic vehicles, fully destructible buildings, and dynamic characters. ROBLOX provides in-game coding using a scripting language called Lua. Users can create simple scripts to make a brick disappear, or complicated ones that control a flying machine.

Users can interact with each other through chat, messaging and forums, where they can promote their creations, ask for help, share advice and support one another.
