It is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium - a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth - is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The year is 2034.

A great and malevolent force known only as the Imperium has swept across the galaxy, claiming planets and solar systems in its wake for the soul gain of power. Their goal, to enslave the entire universe to fuel their own dark desires. Their presence bringing only death and despair, few rise to stand against the Imperium. Those few that have come to bare arms are known as part of the Alliance of Free Worlds.

Guns of August puts players in command of waging World War I at a grand strategic scale from Paris to Baghdad.
The entire Western, Eastern, Italian and Balkan fronts are included as are the three fronts of the Ottoman Empire. Production, Combat, Diplomacy, Research, Trenches, Fog of war Land, Sea and Air combat are all included!
Use land units like infantry corps complete with separate artillery units to precisely directing barrages on the enemys line.
As time goes on, players must deal with changing combat situations like the introduction of the Stosstruppen and even mighty tanks charging though lines to break though the stalemate!
