First of all, we would like to apologize for all of Loony Group's games being down. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to read the happenings below to get a better understanding of what happened. I hope that everyone understands that this was out of our control, and we have only ever tried to provide the best gaming experience at Loony Group.
Yesterday (10/09) at 10:24am Mountain Standard Time, both of Loony Groups dedicated servers went down. At the time, we thought it was more downtime from what has been an unreliable service as of late. This morning (10/10) we have found out that our host seems to have closed up shop. They shut down all their servers, and seem to have completely quit communicating with any of their customers about the situation. We do not know more at this point as to their reasoning, if any. We had no warning whatsoever, and have only received good communication from the owners of DRG SERVERS and their staff in the past.
It has not been determined as of yet what our situation is with the games. We are working hard to recover information from those dedicated servers we had, but does not look promising. We had backups running twice a day between the two servers in case anything ever happened to one of the servers, but we could not, nor did we have reason to predict that our host was going to close its doors. We had comtemplated making move as of late because of the unreliability, but after talking with the owner of DRG SERVERS last week, we were reassured that things were good, and that their promise of 99% up time was still true. Obviously, hindsight being 20/20, we should have made a move last week when we thought about it.
I believe that most of you know us here at Loony Group, and if there was any other way to get the database from the old server we would. At this point, we might be facing a complete reset on all games back to ground zero. However, we are not going to do what most games would, and completely forget all the people who donated to our games. Here is a list of credits that will be issued on each individual game:
Mobs Law - Credits only on the last two weeks, as we had a saved database backup that will only set us back two weeks.
The Mobsters World - Credits will be issued on all donations made within August, September, and October. Some special exceptions may exist, and please see El Jefe, if you believe you fall in the special exceptions category.
Notorious Online - Credits will be issued on all donations made within August, September, and October. Some special exceptions may exist, and please see El Jefe, if you believe you fall in the special exceptions category.
Notorious Online V2 - Credits will be issued on all donations made within August, September, and October. Some special exceptions may exist, and please see El Jefe, if you believe you fall in the special exceptions category.
Alpha Crime - Credits will be issued on all donations made within August, September, and October. Some special exceptions may exist, and please see El Jefe, if you believe you fall in the special exceptions category.
We are now going to be hosting with www.softlayer.com. They have come highly recommended to us from many, many people. We will be working hard for the next couple of days to get things back online. We will try to have Mobs Law, The Mobsters World, and Notorious Online back up as soon as we can. Alpha Crime and Notorious ONline V2 will be online shortly there after. Please remember that we know you, the players, have invested a lot of time in our games, and we hope that this does not keep from playing here. We will continue to work hard making our games great places to play, and Soft Layer should be our home for hosting from here on out.
Again, we understand your frustrations with all this, and we hope you understand ours. We apologize for the inconvienence, and hope that we can move on from here to never have hosting issues again.
See you online Soon.
