Flight Simulator pilots can now soar the skies above Southern California
including Los Angeles, San Diego, and all the way east to Palm Springs and
beyond and see the world beneath them at a whole new level of clarity,
crispness and realism.
The area covers a mammoth 22,000 square miles (150 miles x 150 miles) and
features every landmark in the area. Even every sand trap on every golf course
is visible from the skies.
This is the largest area of photo-scenery of the USA recreated from aerial
photography for flight within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
While the source imagery is resampled up to 4.8 meters per pixel for display
within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 a limitation inherent to the simulator
the 1 foot per pixel high resolution of the initial source data (provided by
AirPhotoUSA, LLC) results in the best clarity and highest possible level of
realism.
