Battlefield: Bad Company reviews

Battlefield: Bad Company (abbreviated BFBC) is a first-person shooter under development by Digital Illusions CE (DICE).

Currently planned to be released in June 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Bad Company will be the first Battlefield displaying game to be developed specifically for current-gen consoles. A teaser trailer was released on February 28, 2007destructible environments and gameplay visuals, and a second trailer was released on September 6, 2007 showing First Person gameplay and the first glimpse of the storyline. Once again, the Battlefield Theme returns in elements for the main music.

Story
Not much information has been given out about the story so far however it has been confirmed that that the plot is about a group of renegade soldiers who have been condemned to work for B-Company instead of being dishonorably-discharged from the army. You take the role of Preston Marlow, a new recruit to B-Company (the cause of this is currently unknown).

Destructible Environments
One of the new features exclusive to Bad Company will be the addition of 90% destructible environments, including buildings, vegetation, vehicles, and more. Still, for gameplay purposes, the frames of buildings and other objects will remain indestructible, to prevent the environment from becoming completely flat. Additionally, the game will feature dynamic lighting to correlate with the changing environment.[3]

Classes
In a move similar to Battlefield 2142, the number of soldier classes will be lowered, resulting in a combination of the classic soldier classes. The same classic classes remain: Assault, Demolitions, Recon, Spec-Ops, and Support.[4]

Weapons
Available weapons are currently unknown, but will likely include both modern and future concept such as the XM8 rifle with M203 40mm grenade launcher shown in a few of the screenshots, and also the G36C , M203, as well as the HK 416 seen in other screenshots.[5] Also, "PLAYSTATION" magazine has a screenshot of the player holding an AT4 rocket launcher.

The September 2007 trailer also features the PKM machine gun, the M40 sniper rifle, the M249 SAW, and other weapons.[6]

Another weapon is the laser designator that allows you to mark targets for destruction via aircraft delivered laser-guided bomb.

A compiled list of weapons that have appeared in videos has been posted on Planet Battlefield. Currently, the following weapons have been spotted AEK971, M416, M203, M24, T194, GP30, Laser Designator, Mortar Strike, Knife, Life-2 (healing syringe), and C4 / Explosive.
